Answers to common questions about using Tanpri and about printing.
What if my phone can't connect to my printer?
You can share a PDF from the "Print Preview" screen. Send the PDF to a computer or another device and print it from there.
What paper can I print on?
It depends on how you print. "Learn from list" uses A4 or B5, "Cut and use" uses A4 (with card sizes of business card size, A7, or Wide), and "Print one by one" uses business card size or A7.
Check the print screen or your printer's manual to see whether your printer supports that paper.
How do I line up the front and back when printing double-sided?
With "Cut and use", fronts and backs are printed on alternating pages. The backs are placed in reverse left-to-right order so they line up with the fronts when printed double-sided.
Double-sided printing is chosen in the print screen, not in the app. Set the print size to 100% (actual size) and choose long-edge binding for double-sided printing. It's a good idea to print one sheet as a test first to check that the fronts and backs line up.
For "Print one by one", you also choose double-sided printing in the print screen.
What if the content doesn't fit on a card?
You'll see "Some cards have content that doesn't fit. Try reducing font or image size." Try making "Font Size" or "Image Size" smaller in the print settings.
Can I print cards with photos?
Yes. When "Include Images" is on in the print settings, the images on your cards are printed too (it is on at first). You can change their size with "Image Size".
Can I import a word list I already have?
Yes. Use "Import from CSV" and choose a CSV or text file. Pick "Comma" or "Tab" as the delimiter, then choose which column to use for "Front" and "Back". If the first row is a header, turn on "Ignore first row". You can check the contents in the preview before importing.
Can I practice in the app too?
Yes. On the study screen, use "Tap to flip" to see the back, and mark cards you have learned as mastered with the button on the card.
In "Study Settings", you can turn on "Show back first", "Skip mastered", and "Shuffle".
Are the cards I make sent anywhere?
Cards you make and photos attached to them are stored only on your device. They are never sent to the Service Provider.
Files you export with the backup and sharing features are saved to the location you choose. The app never uploads these files to a cloud service automatically.
Does it work on iPhone or Android?
Both. Download it from the App Store on iPhone, or from Google Play on Android.
